What’s one interesting thing that everyone should know about where you live?
One interesting thing about where I live is my neighbors. The majority of my neighbors are not human; they are turkeys, hawks, skunks, squirrels, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, deer, mountain lions, and–since we live along the Bear River Canyon–it only makes sense that we have bear neighbors, too. I love living in such a diverse neighborhood and have four trail cameras around our home to help capture interesting moments in our ‘hood. You can check out some of the neighborhood drama here: https://www.instagram.com/trailcamcam/.
What do you love about your job?
I love the collaborative nature of my job, and to that point, I love the thoughtfulness and level of expertise that our team brings every day to support each other and our clients.
Tell me what about our clients inspires you the most?
Our clients put a lot of trust in us to represent them at a very high level. That trust inspires me to deliver work that they can confidently take ownership of and proudly share with their teams and customers.
What would you say is your superpower?
I believe it’s a combination of two things: being a very good listener and also being able to bring people together in a way that helps individuals be themselves while working together as a team with a common mission.
What is one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?
A couple of days ago I would have shared that I subconsciously make a strange noise while working–kind of like a pigeon or a cat purring–but I just shared that answer with some colleagues yesterday on a call when we each took turns sharing a “fun fact.” So, here’s one that I don’t think I’ve ever shared…
My senior project in design school was a point-of-view video capture product for sports enthusiasts. I created a full prototype, including a vacuum-formed helmet with the camera mount, and also the branding and in-action photo shoots. This was many, many years ago, and perhaps if I had better business skills at the time, I could have owned the market well before GoPro even existed. 🙂
What is one thing that I should have asked you but didn’t?
Here’s one that might be fun: What are some slogans or mantras that you like to keep top of mind? I’m not sure exactly who originated these, but here are a couple of my favorites: “If you argue for your limits, you get to keep them,” and “Simplify to amplify.”
